pages 1-20 the emotionless man

The character Monsieur Meurasault reminds me of the character Holden Caulfeild in the book Catcher in the Rye. The similarities between these two people is that they both play in an act of denial. I believe that Meurasault is not realizing what his life is really about and cant seem to care less how he lacks such emotion. Holden Caulfeild releases the same trait aswell in his narrative book where he shows how meaningless life can be. These two guys have a negative input on life in thinking everything is going to be the same no matter what happends. "...Sunday was over, that Maman was buried now, that I was going back to work, and that really nothing had changed."(24). Despite the fact that his mother died and Meursault has to live alone he seems to not be affected by anything at all. I wonder if it is just a shell he is hiding under because he doesn't want to face some sort of reality?

My blog will contain intricate responses to the books that I read during my senior year in my high school english class. This is my opinion on how I intepret the books and how it might relate to other things such as my life. Feel free to comment on anything that I say I wont be offended.
